PETRUZZELLI TOURNÉE WITH THE TROVATORE AND TURANDOT IN TOKYO

BARI - Thirteen minutes of applause welcomed "Il trovatorè that the Petruzzelli Foundation presented at the" Bunka Kaikan Theater "in Tokyo, the first stage of the tour in Japan, the first tour abroad after the reconstruction of Politeama.

Giuseppe Verdi's troubadour, was the historical staging with the sets of Sormani Cardaropoli, applauded by the Bari public in February 2018. The Orchestra, the Choir and the workers of the Petruzzelli Theater are accompanied by the superintendent Massimo Biscardi.

The Pugliese Foundation will bring to Japan two great shows that will see the stable director Giampaolo Bisanti on the podium: after Trovatore, Giacomo Puccini's Turandot, produced by Petruzzelli and signed by Roberto De Simone, who in 2009 inaugurated the first Opera Season after the reconstruction del Teatro and Il trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi. To give voice to the main roles of the scheduled works some of the most famous and appreciated voices in the international music scene: in the role of Turandot will sing the soprano Maria Guleghina, in that of Calaf the tenor Marco Berti. The director of Il trovatore is signed by Joseph Franconi Lee, to interpret Leonora the soprano Svetla Vassileva, Manrico the tenor Francesco Meli and the Count of Luna the baritone Alberto Gazale.

Six stages included in the tour: Bunka Kaikan Theater in Tokyo, Seitoku University in Tokyo, Fuchuomori Art Theater in Tokyo, Shimin Kaikan in Nagoya, Biwako Hall in Otsu, Festival Hall in Osaka. Almost all the 8 scheduled dates have in fact been sold out.

The trip to Japan from June 17 to July 2 is entirely expensed by the Japanese company Concert Doors Co. Ltd. Tokyo, thanks to the esteem in the Petruzzelli Theater of its President, Masayuki Kobayashi and after a negotiation carried on for more than a year.
