Yumi Anna Yaginuma began to study piano at the age of four and graduated in opera singing at the Musashino University of Music in Tokyo, studying with Elena Obraszova and Vittorio Terranova. She won the prize as “the best singer”, named to her the University’s founder, Naoaki Fukui.

After her graduation, she moved to Italy to specialize in opera singing at the A. Boito Conservatory of Parma, following the specialization courses held by K. Ricciarelli, B. Giaiotti, R. Kabaivanska, L. Magiera; she won several international competitions for opera singers throughout Europe.

‍ During her artistic career she made her debut in several roles such as: Musetta in La Bohemé, Gilda in Rigoletto, Violetta il La Traviata in theatre’s productions in Italy, Europe, South America, United States and Japan.

She has often performed in recitals and concerts and she has been a guest of Italian television programs on several occasions.

Besides her artistic career she has focused on a cultural mediation activity between Italy and Japan creating music festivals and cultural exchanges, exhibitions and competitions for artists, master classes and auditions for young opera singers.

She has been an honorary member of UNESCO Japan since 2010, for which she holds positions of cultural and territorial promotion.

She constantly collaborates with the Embassy of several countries in Japan and Italy and with international clients. 

She organized cultural events attended by important personalities such as the 20th President of the French Republic, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and Dalai Lama.

Among the projects for which she collaborated in the realization we mention the exhibition "Botero in Parma" at the Palazzo del Governatore (Parma) inaugurated in October 2013 with the special participation of the artist Fernando Botero himself.

In 2016 she was named Adviser for the Tokyo Metropolitan Opera Foundation and the Artistic Director of the Company Concert Doors Japan.

In 2018 she was named Head for contacts with the East for the Giuseppe Verdi Theater in Trieste.

Since 2005 she has organized artistic / lyrical tours in Japan in collaboration with Italian Institutions and Theaters. In 2019 she founded NOA international Cultural and Musical Association with which she is carrying out the same activity.

Among the latest projects realized by the NOA international we mention the tours of Italian theaters: Teatro Massimo in Palermo (June 2017), Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari (June 2018), Teatro Comunale in Bologna (June 2019) and Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste (October / November 2019).
